Adam Young's try at the end of the first half created history for Calne RFC on Sunday.
Under 14 ace Young blasted over the line for the first-ever score for the new Calne junior sections in their clash against impressive Cooper Avon Tyres (CAT) side, who won 36-12.
CAT were on a roll after winning 50-0 at Swindon the previous week, but the worries of Calne's officials proved unfounded as the pack shoved their opponents off the first scrum.
There were fine individual efforts from Shane McCafferty and Andy Pitchley and Calne were just 14-5 behind at the break.
Cooper Avon added another after half-time, but Pitchley picked up the fumble to run the length of the field for a stunning score for Courtney Earl to convert.
And although Cooper Avon added another Calne watched by club captain Taff Morgan, who exactly 20 years ago ran a colts team at the club were pleased with their efforts.
The team are in need of a kit sponsor. Call Alan Matthews on 07717 842807 or e-mail matmob@btopenworld.com for details.
