The last set of cup semi-finals were played this weekend including those in the Evening Advertiser-sponsored under 9 competition.
Ashton Keynes made it into the final with a 2-0 win at Purton. In an excellent game of football, two Daniel Roberts goals were enough to secure a place in the final. Ashton Keynes could also afford to miss a penalty, Purton keeper Gavin Roberts saving the spot kick.
Ashton Keynes are joined in the final by Wootton Bassett Town, who won by a similar scoreline against visitors Robins, in another cracking semi-final tie.
Wootton Bassett led at the break through Josh Shama and a second half strike from Philip Wardall made certain of victory.
Under 12 Cup Semi-finals
In the battle of the top two sides in the age group at Amesbury it was the home side who emerged with a comfortable 7-1 win against Lydiard Youth.
Playing with the wind, Amesbury finally broke through after Shaun Dixon picked the ball up wide on the left and cut inside to fire home from 25 yards.
Amesbury then piled on the pressure and deservedly scored again through Dixon.
Amesbury went into the break with a 3-0 half-time lead when Sam Gillotts long free kick broke clear for Sam Aldridge to slot home.
Lydiard came back strongly in the second-half and got back into the game with a goal 15 minutes into the half.
Amesbury restored their three goal advantage when Aldridge raced clear from the half-way line to slot home a decisive fourth goal. They added further goals from Tom Plant, Callum Coker and Aldridge.
It was a somewhat closer affair at Ferndale Rodbourne where the odd goal in five was enough to give visitors Old Town United a place in the final.
Old Town had been devastated by the news on Friday of the death of their former chairman Kevan Hobbis and it was a fitting tribute to his memory that they won through to a County Ground final for the second consecutive season.
Nathan Gambling and James Trevors scored for the home side, and Sam McVeigh (2) and Sam Berwick for Old Town. Old Town will now be looking to go one better than last season when they lost in the final to Fairford.
Under 16
In the league Shaw B entertained Wootton Bassett Town and went in 4-1 up at half time.
Bassett came out all guns blazing after the break and brought the score up to 4-3 through goals from Tom James and a Sean Leake penalty, his second goal of the match, but Shaw then added another to end the game 5-3 winners.
Shaw scorers were Kristian Howell (2), Dan Hiscocks, Adam Legg and an own goal.
In the Subsidiary Cup Shaw A found their shooting boots, hitting 19 without reply against Fairford to go top of Group B.
Shaw's scorers were Dan Checchia (4), Luke Zammit (3), Bobby Hunt (3), Bradley Clark (3), Mark King (3), Chris Bilko (2) and John Lee.
Under 15
Shaw improved their chances of finishing runners-up after a convincing 10-1 home win over Robins.
They moved to within two points of Liden Community with a game in hand, courtesy of goals from Dan Atkin (2), Scott Campbell (2), Nathan Bowns (2), Jason Lincoln (2), Danny Mastalerz and an own goal.
In the Subsidiary Cup, Wootton Bassett Town's 1-0 win at Ferndale Rodbourne thanks to a goal from Seb Davies gives them a great chance of now progressing to the knock-out stages.
Under 14 Div 1 Subsidiary Cup
IN the Subsidiary Cup, Greenmeadow carried on where they left off in the league, opening their account in the competition with a 7-0 thrashing of Croft Juniors.
Star of the show was Josh Henshall who hit five goals, the others coming from Chris Moulton and an own goal.
Ferndale Rodbourne also got under way in the competition with a win, winning by the odd goal in seven against Eastville Boys, this after Ferndale had led 3-0 in the early stages of the match.
On target for Ferndale were the prolific Steve Green and Lewis Jones, both hitting a brace.
Under 14 DivISION 2
Stratton Youth finished their league season with a 100 per cent record after an eight-goal win at Blunsdon Colts.
In the Subsidiary Cup, Walcot Wanderers look to have booked a place in the knockout stages after a
7-0 home win against Juventus Juniors. Their scorers were Nick Mitchell (2), Jason Norris (2), Ben Wilson and Ezekiel Wardle.
Highworth Town also improved their chances of making the last eight after a 4-1 win at Shaw, Carl Leppard with two, Matt Hams and Mick Newman were the scorers, the latter netting against his former club.
Under 13 DivISION 1
Westlea Wanderers extended their lead at the top and ensured the title was theirs outright with a 3-1 win at Shrivenham & Watchfield.
Goals from Lewis Maynard, Callum Jones and Stuart Hillis mean that the game against Croft, which has been ordered to be replayed by the league, is now academic. Bradley Williams scored the consolation goal for Shrivenham & Watchfield.
There was an entertaining game at Highworth between Eastville Boys and Croft Juniors, the two sides sharing the points following a 2-2 draw. Dan Franklin put Croft ahead and then scored again, this time at the "wrong end" to put Eastville level.
In the second period, with the wind behind them, Eastville put Croft under pressure and were rewarded when Ben Hunter scored from a corner.
Croft continued to play some excellent passing football and equalised with an exquisite chipped goal from Jose Algaba-Knight.
Under 13 Subsidiary Cup
Highworth Juniors moved to the top of Group A with a 2-0 home win over Fairford. This win just about secures Highworth's place in the knockout stages. Robbie Hall scored one of the goals the other coming from an own goal by a Fairford player.
In Group B, Stratton Juniors were 4-2 winners over Ferndale Rodbourne, Lewis Chatwin (2), Lee Gratton and Kerry McKay scoring for Stratton, and Chris Avery (2) for Ferndale.
Biggest winners of the day were Shaw, a 13-1 home win over Stratton Youth putting them top of Group C. Shaw's goals were scored by Darren Chapman (4) Mark Olner (3), Dane Moulton (2), Kyle Moulton, Neil Puffet, Goldy Kumar and Lawrence Royle.
Under 12 DivISION 1
With the top two involved in cup action, Malmesbury moved up into third spot and within four points of Lydiard Youth after a 3-1 win at Wootton Bassett. Kieran Cochrane, Sam Jenner and Joe Harris were on target for the visitors, James Tasker getting the consolation for Wootton Bassett.
Two goals from Luke Underwood for Shaw in the game against Fairford were not enough to give the home side a share of the points, Fairford getting three to move into sixth place in the table.
At the bottom end of the table Croft Juniors had a welcome 5-0 win over Liden Community, thanks to goals from Michael Newman (2), Conor Goldsworthy, Tommy Green and Michael Jackson.
Under 12 DivISION 2
Half the games in this division were lost for one reason or another. In the games that did survive leaders Old Town United Cubs consolidated their position at the top with a 4-0 win at Marlborough.
Stratton Juniors lost ground when they could only draw 2-2 with Ferndale Rodbourne Tigers, Jake Bryan and Matthew Harmer the Stratton scorers.
Under 11 North
Leaders Blunsdon Colts were made to work hard by visitors Lydiard Youth, in the end a solitary goal from Oliver Waite was enough to maintain Blunsdon's 100 per cent league record.
Cup finalists Stratton Juniors Orange look to be the team that could challenge Blunsdon, a 7-1 home win over Avonvale United lifting them into third spot. Blunsdon scorers were Jeremy Marsh (2), Nathan Richens (2), Daniel Trowbridge, George Bull and Aaron Webb.
At the wrong end of the table, Stratton Youth had a welcome win, defeating Fairford 3-2, George Peare netting twice, the other coming from James Bayliss.
Under 11 West
Just one game was played in the West Division, Ferndale Rodbourne Tigers defeating Ramsbury 6-1. Kyle Rigby led the way with a hat-trick and there were further goals from Ryan Selby, Jason Gunnett and Nathan Sarahs.
Under 11 Central
Leaders Croft's match fell victim of the weather but second-placed Ferndale Rodbourne Pumas failed to take advantage of their chance to close the gap, losing 7-0 at home against Brunel Boys. This win moved Brunel up into third place.
In the other match played, two goals from Javed Miah and one for Chris Ackrill were enough to give AFC Swindon all three points in their match with Old Town United.
Under 10 North
Shock of the day saw unbeaten Highworth Juniors lose their 100 per cent record, going down 2-1 at Stratton Youth. Adam Mansell was the hero for Stratton, scoring both goals.
The only team capable of catching Highworth at the top are Purton. They kept their slim title chances alive courtesy of a 7-0 home win over Shrivenham & Watchfield. Purton's scorers were Jacob Haydon (3), Scott Carson, Matt Bunce, Raymond Lovell and Morgan Selwood.
Under 10 West
Ferndale Rodbourne Pumas went top of the table after a 10-0 win at Minety. FC Abbey Meads kept their chances of the title alive with a 4-1 win at Shaw, Robert Lincoln scoring the Shaw consolation goal.
Malmesbury stay fifth after a 3-1 home win over Fairford B, Matthew Coots and George Royle their scorers.
Under 10 Central
Croft Juniors were crowned champions with a game to spare when they won 3-0 at Ferndale Rodbourne Tigers. Croft's scorers were Sophie Barrett, James Kearns and Phillip Jones.
Stratton Juniors lost 3-2 at home to Penhill Knights. Stratton scorers were Nathan Lee and Ben Car.
There was a nine-goal thriller between Greenmeadow and Eldene Rangers, the home side eventually edging it 5-4. Greenmeadow scorers were Callum Staffell (2), Kray Dunn (2) and Shaun King. Eldene's goals were all scored by Curtis Lever.
Under 9 North
Top match of the day was at Highworth, where leaders Cirencester Juniors came close to losing their unbeaten record.
Highworth Town West led 2-0 thanks to goals from Jack Peddar and Neil Thakray but Cirencester came back strongly to take a share of the points, thanks to two goals from Daniel Warriner.
Highworth Juniors had a welcome 3-1 win at Shrivenham. The home side's consolation goal came courtesy of Elliott Day.
Coleshill Juniors continued their improved form of late with another hard-won point at Fairford.
Fairford went in front courtesy of a superb strike into the top left corner from Tom Denmead.
After some concerted pressure in the second period Coleshill got their reward through Jack Deamon after a good passing move involving Johnathan Keany and Sandy Law.
Under 9 West
With leaders Wootton Bassett involved in cup action, nearest rivals Greenmeadow Cubs, Westbrook and Swindon Badgers took the opportunity to close the gap at the top.
Greenmeadow won 2-1 against Malmesbury thanks to goals from Jack Townsend and Carl Mechant.
Westbrook A won by a similar score at home against Cricklade Colts, Callum Fitzgerald and Bradon Cleverly scoring for Westbrook, and Jacob King for Cricklade.
Swindon Badgers won 4-1 against Highworth Town South with goals from Sam Dicks (2), Adam Wooley and Vinny Raynor.
In the other game played goals for Ben Davis and Ben Amor gave Marlborough Youth a 2-1 win over Shaw.
Under 9 Central
Ferndale Rodbourne's Jack Allen and Michael Burkshore scored a goal a piece in the first half of their match with Greenmeadow Colts.
Greenmeadow continued to battle, and Lee Clarke got one back for the home side.
