LIDEN Under 15s were edged out of a Wiltshire Cup Final place after going down 1-0 to their Trowbridge counterparts in a hard-fought semi-final.

The decisive goal came with just 15 minutes remaining, and proved to be a controversial one.

A Trowbridge player, receiving treatment off the pitch, was waved back into play, the ball was threaded through to him and he went on to score the goal which carried his side through to the final.

Liden are still in with a tilt at the national Lions final, to be held at Nottingham Forest's City Ground.

Representing the Highworth Lions after winning their qualifying tournament the Liden boys host Folkestone in the southern section semi-final at Supermarine on Sunday, March 28 (2.30).

And victory there would leave them just one game away from the national final.
