A MAN evicted from his sheltered accommodation for terrorising fellow residents says he is homeless.

David Lewis, 62, was evicted at the beginning of the month from David Stoddart Gardens in Gorse Hill.

Swindon County Court heard from borough solicitor Francis Maples that he threatened and abused other residents, some in their 90s, while drunk.

He also racially abused warden Kevan Colanis, Mr Maples said.

Mr Lewis still insists that the allegations against him were false, however. After being ordered out of David Stoddart Garden he was given boarding house accommodation by Swindon Council.

However, he left insisting that he had been the victim of a theft.

Since then, he says, he has slept everywhere from a daughter's flat to the doorway of a church.

He is currently in a town centre hotel, but says he can only remain there for a few days, when his savings will run out.

He also says he has been offered accommodation in Pinehurst by the council.

but does not wish to live there, as the nearby Whitworth Road cemetery contains the bodies of his loved ones.
