PEWSEY are now unbeaten in three games but they were left kicking themselves after only drawing a game they should have won.
Steve Wootton's side had picked up an impressive draw against pacesetters Didcot Town in midweek and created enough chances to have beaten Chipping Norton on Saturday.
Craig Wall put Pewsey ahead just before half-time but the visitors did not turn their domination into goals and were punished when Chipping Norton netted a late equaliser.
Wootton said: "Saturday was bad result for us because we could have won 8-1. Barry Flippance missed a one-on-one before Craig scored and Tom Ritchie had a 25-yarder superbly saved.
"At half-time we could have been 4-2 up and the second half was one-way traffic from us. It was a situation of bad misses more than anything. We were panicking instead of taking time.
"Craig, Barry and Matty Messenger all had chances but Chipping Norton scored right at end when we didn't clear a corner."
He added: "It was a classic case of not taking our chances and being punished for it. In games like that when we are on top we have to win. But on the bright side we are unbeaten in three games which is our best form since September."
On Saturday Pewsey are away to Pegasus Juniors who are in 16th place.
Wootton said: "It won't be easy because they've picked up lately but we need a win to get some breathing space from the teams below us."
Darren Walters made his comeback from an ankle injury last weekend and Churchward could shake off knee injury in time for Saturday.
