GAZETTE & HERALD: Calne mother Liz Masson is raising money during Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Week to help educate people about her daughter's illness.
Holly Masson, aged six, who lives with her parents in Braemor Road, is believed to be the only person in the town who suffers from the illness.
Cystic fibrosis is an inherited genetic disorder and causes the body to produce thick mucus that particularly affects the lungs and digestive system.
Mrs Masson, 35, will be collecting money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust in Sainsbury's foyer on Saturday, the first day of Cystic Fibrosis Week.
She will be running a stand, selling badges and collecting donations from 9am to 4pm.
She said that, despite cystic fibrosis being the most common life-threatening disease, most people are not aware of it.
"Although Cystic Fibrosis Week is about raising money it is also about making people aware," she said.
Holly attends Fynamore Primary School. Pupils will be collecting money for the trust with a raffle and Bring A Toy To School day on April 2.
