GAZETTE & HERALD: Residents are planning to complain to the Standards Committee because they feel the district council has failed to deal with subsidence at the back of their homes in Churchill Close, Calne.
Last week North Wiltshire District Council Executive Committee set aside £650,000 towards tackling the subsistence.
The committee said there was a possibility repairs could be undertaken but the council is not accepting liability at this stage.
Mother-of-four Ingrid Symth said residents had met the council five months ago but had heard nothing since.
"We are totally in the dark and being shut out. We still do not know if our houses are safe,"she said.
Following an investigation by the Ombudsman, residents have now received an explanation by the council and are planning on putting a formal complaint to the Standards Committee.
The residents have lost between five and ten feet from their gardens which back on to land owned by the district council.
District councillor Ross Henning, lead member for built environment, said: "I can assure residents that the council is moving forward with this issue and they should feel confident that things are definitely happening."
It had been agreed that a report will be brought to the next meeting of the executive on April 1, said Coun Henning.
This would detail the council's insurance position, the cost of remedial works and a timetable for the repairs.
