ITEMS made from wood from one of the felled London Plane trees in Devizes Market Place will be up for auction.
The charity auction is for Devizes mayor Paula Winchcombe's appeal to raise money for Devizes Opportunity Centre, which helps children with special educational needs.
Items made from the wood include the base for a table lamp, bowls and gavels.
Mrs Winchcombe has pledged that the money for the wooden item which sells for the most will be donated to DASH2, the action group fighting to save services at Devizes Hospital.
A local woodturner, who wishes to remain anonymous, made the items for Mrs Winchcombe's husband, Charles.
Mr Winchcombe said: "The items made from the plane tree are of great historical interest."
The five London Plane trees were controversially felled by Kennet District Council in November 2001.
Other lots in Mrs Winchcombe's charity auction include a helicopter flight over Devizes.
The auction is on May 7 at the Assembly Room in the town hall, Devizes, at 7.30pm. Tickets are £5, available from the town hall.
Mrs Winchcombe said: "I would like to raise as much money as I can for Devizes Opportunity Centre."
