FAIRFORD failed to get their hands on the first silverware of the season in the Hellenic League last night.
Mark Webb's men were soundly beaten 3-0 at home by Slimbridge in the second leg of the Norman Matthews Floodlit Cup final, losing the tie 4-0 on aggregate to the Gloucestershire side.
In the Premier Division, Pewsey held Hungerford to a 1-1 draw with Craig Wall on target, the visitors equalising five minutes from time.
Cirencester United enjoyed a fine 6-3 win over high-flying Ardley in Division One West, doing title chasing Purton and Shrivenham a favour in the process.
