YOUTH RUGBY: CORSHAM County Primary School will compete on the hallowed turf of Twickenham after overcoming stiff opposition to win the final of the Bath Community Powergen Tag festival.

Corsham, who defeated St. Phillips Primary School, will represent Bath and take on winners from the 12 Zurich Premiership clubs at the Powergen Cup Final on April 12.

Corsham and St Phillips were tied on points and tries after the round-robin tournament that included Winsley Primary and Walwayne Court.

A play-off took place with Corsham victorious by four tries to two.

l SWINDON'S mini section headed to Melksham to take part in a rain-affected Cooper-Avon Tyres festival at the weekend. TheU9s team produced their best displays of the season, despite drawing 0-0 with Trowbridge and losing 2-0 to Bradford on Avon.

It was a similar story for Swindon in the U8s, as Trowbridge scored five unanswered tries in the first match. Against Bradford, Harry Reece and George Bates crossed in a 4-2 defeat before play was abandoned because of the weather.

For the U7s Ieuan Whelan and Josh Lee both scored hat-tricks as Swindon saw off Trowbridge 6-4 in their only clash.

Swindon minis travel to Bassett this Sunday, as do the U13s. The U14s and 15s are at Stow, while the U17s are at home to St Peters.
