A DATE has been set for the public examination of proposed alterations to the Wiltshire and Swindon Structure Plan.
A series of proposed alterations to the plan were published by Wiltshire County Council, along with Swindon Borough Council, at the end of 2003.
Toby Sturgis, county council cabinet member for planning and waste, said: "The document sets out strategic policies to help guide development and ensure homes, shops, offices and employment areas are built in the most suitable locations. It provides a framework for the review of the more detailed local plans prepared by district councils."
The inquiry is to be held at Chippenham Town Hall beginning on June 22 and a list of the matters to be discussed is available from council offices and libraries across Wiltshire and Swindon.
Following the public examination there will be a further round of consultation on proposed modifications to the plan before it is adopted by early 2005.
