COLIN Bush is hoping the lights don't go out on his side's Wiltshire Senior Cup run after Tuesday night's league match was abandoned due to a floodlight failure.
The match was brought to a halt with the score at 1-1 and the Corsham manager is now looking ahead to Tuesday night's cup semi-final against Shrewton United.
Corsham have only lost three of their last 24 league and cup games and Bush believes his players deserve some reward for their efforts this season.
He said: "It would be very nice to get to the final now we have come this far. We have had a couple of difficult games on this run.
"After our indifferent start we have played really well and the lads definitely deserve something out of the season.
"All credit to the players for the way they have played this season and it would be great if we could pick up some silverware.
"But Shrewton will be a tough match and Dean Foot and Jesse Walters always pose a dangerous threat up front."
Before the lights went out on Tuesday night Corsham equipped themselves well against the side second in the Screwfix League Division One.
Striker Dave Kilmurray gave them a perfect start, finishing from the edge of the area to give Bush's side the lead.
Numerous good chances followed for the visitors but they all went begging with Kilmurray and Alan Griffin the biggest culprits.
On the stroke of half-time Kilmurray had a golden opportunity to score his second and capitalise on his side's dominance but he blazed over the bar from six yards out.
After the break Corsham again squandered some early chances and on 65 minutes Manor Farm equalised.
With the game all square and seemingly set for a thrilling climax the lights went out and after 15 minutes of waiting around it was decided the match should be abandoned.
"We played very well," said Bush. "If we had scored a few more of our chances I would have been very annoyed that the match had been called off.
"The lads will get some confidence because we have once again matched one of the top sides."
Tuesday night's semi final will take place at Devizes Town's Nurstead Road ground and the kick off is 7.30pm.
