Ref. 28013/2BOOK characters invaded Corsley School on Wednesday as youngsters vied with each other to come up with the most novel costume.
Noddy, Snow White, and Toad from Wind In The Willows were all prominent as the school's book week gripped pupils' imaginations. The only proviso was that the youngsters had to have some information about the book in which their character appeared.
In past years all the staff have also become their favourite characters, but this time around Angela Bodman was the only teacher to take the plunge as Noddy.
Headteacher Chris Williams said: "The parents really go to town on some of them. We decided not to dress up this year, but Mrs Bodman was fantastic."
The school organises a book week every year and each day this week pupils and parents have been able to select some new reading from the book fair. The packed programme has also included a design a book cover competition, book sharing and parents coming in to read stories to the children.
Last night pupils returned to classes at 6pm for a bedtime story session read by Bath-based storyteller Jean Edmiston.
Mrs Williams said: "The children will come back to school in their pyjamas with their duvets and sleeping bags and have a mug of hot chocolate.
"The next day they get to find out the results of the design a cover competition."
