REFERRING to Bill Fisher's letter in last week's Wiltshire Times the responsible dog owners clean up after their dogs; it's the irresponsible ones that do not.

Did Mr Fisher notice some of the planted young trees had been vandalised, also some of the seats?

I also include the litter droppers and the tippers of rubbish in the nearest convenient place for them, the latter being outside of the park at the moment.

These people are the spoilers for the majority and however many rules are made and notices displayed they will never conform. But what is perfect these days? Not a lot.

We all have to wait to get to the pearly gates and (hopefully) St Peter lets us in for perfection.

I understand there is to be a learning centre to be built in the park; not many, if any, would object to this, a worthy cause.

I also read there may be sports facilities available sometime in the future. The powers that be, when planning the future of the park, will not please everyone; but would they consider giving us all a fair share?

I see joggers, walkers, parents with their young children, some disabled people, all enjoying this lovely park.

I also see many responsible dog walkers, mostly retired people, in the autumn/winter of their lives, but still active.

Some of these people meet up, make friends and to some living on their own, is the highlight of their day, to have some human company. One gentleman exercises his dog from his motorised chair.

Will you give us fair consideration and a few acres to continue to walk our dogs off the lead whatever plans are ahead?
