CHART-TOPPING trio 911 are the latest band to sign up to this year's Spotlight on Trowbridge music festival. Pin-ups Lee Brennan, Spike Dawbarn and Jimmy Constable will perform for 40 minutes in Trowbridge Park on July 17.
The trio, who have a string of top 10 hits under their belt, will perform live alongside a host of music and soap stars.
911 formed in 1995, securing a first number one four years later with A Little Bit More.
Smash-hits Bodyshakin, Party People and The Journey followed suit, and the group embarked on two sell-out tours.
With a fan base in the UK and south east Asia, where 20 of their records have gone platinum, organisers are hoping 911 will help draw in the crowds.
Teenager Lisa Andreas, who is representing Cyprus at the Eurovision Song Contest in Istanbul, will also perform at the July event. Lisa, 17, is tipped to be a future star after being picked to represent her country with the tune Stronger Every Minute.
Ex-EastEnder Carly Hillman who played Italian schoolgirl Nicky Di Marco will co-host the bi-annual festival.
Organisers are hoping to confirm a top-40 chart band and more soap stars in the coming months.
Trowbridge Town Council is footing the bill for the six-day event, which will culminate in a music festival on the last day.
American cheerleaders Independence, R&B singer Ben Franco, all-girl band Untouched and singing teenage heart-throb, Lee Bennett are among acts confirmed.
David Byrne, of promoters Maximum Leisure, said: "911 still have a great following. I think the event will be different to what Trowbridge has seen in previous years. It is a day of family fun."
Starry Eyes will stage a selection of west Wiltshire's best talent, giving young singers a chance to perform with a professional sound and lighting crew.
The Spotlight event is aimed at giving Trowbridge businesses and organisations a higher profile while town charities can use it as a venue to raise funds.
