Ref. 14899/6CHILDREN from a Trowbridge primary school facing closure in two weeks got a last chance to visit newborn lambs at a nearby agricultural college.
Pupils of St Mary's Primary School, Steeple Ashton, have paid a spring visit to Wiltshire College Lackham for the past six years. But with the school closing for good next month, Wednesday's visit became all the more poignant.
The school's eight pupils joined children from Holbrook Pre-School to catch an early glimpse of the new arrivals before the college hosts its annual lambing event this weekend.
Lackham's Hannah Bowden gave the children a talk about the lambing and pupils held one of the baby lambs.
This year 320 ewes at the college are set to deliver a bumper crop of lambs. The event is held this weekend from 10am to 5pm on both days.
