STEVE WHITE is preparing to fend off the vultures circling Chippenham Town's biggest asset.

The Bluebirds rejected a bid from Conference club Forest Green for the services of teenage striking sensation James Constable this week but bigger temptations could be on the way.

Forest Green offered £2,500 along with a sell-on clause for the 19-year-old who has hit 10 goals in 14 games since arriving from Cirencester in December.

That bid was turned down but scouts from Cheltenham and Rushden have also been monitoring the forward and may make a move before the summer.

But White insists it will take a much bigger offer to land the talented youngster.

He said: "James will play in the Football League no question but we won't even consider any offer that isn't at least five figures."

Constable will lead the line alongside Charlie Griffin when Dover Athletic visit Hardenhuish Park in the Premier Division tomorrow.

Mark Badman is still struggling with a hamstring problem but fellow midfielder Ellis Wilmot is back in contention.

Meanwhile, tickets for the home clash with Bath City go on sale after the Dover game.

The crucial league encounter has been made all ticket with the attendance limited to 1,500. Bath will be allocated 450 tickets.

The decision has been made after the corresponding fixture last season attracted a near-2,000 crowd.

A perimeter wall collapsed during the match, injuring several Bath fans and City midfielder Jamie Gosling who has since moved to Nationwide League Yeovil.
