Campers and Caravanners nationwide are being urged to pitch their tent, hitch up their caravan, or get their motorhome fuelled up and ready to go for National Camping and Caravanning week 29th May to 4th June 2004.
The Camping and Caravanning Club first introduced this event in 2001 to mark its centenary. Since then, the event has been gaining momentum and nearly 100,000 people pitched, hitched and joined the fun last year to establish a record for the most people camping out on one night.
You don't have to be a member of The Camping and Caravanning Club, or indeed any club at all. Whether you pitch your tent in your garden for a night over the bank holiday weekend, hitch up a caravan, or take a motor caravan and join other outdoors lovers on a site for the whole week.
Oh, and don't worry if you haven't got all you need because there'll be some great deals in camping and caravanning gear during and leading up to the event. Check it out with your local retailer.
National Camping and Caravanning Week can also be used as a springboard for fundraising, charity events and friends and family gatherings.
The Camping and Caravanning Club Chairman, Darrell Stubbs, says; "Camping and Caravanning is generally inexpensive and fun and we are actively encouraging everyone to visit the countryside during this week."
