The whimsical sounds of a dozen barrel organs were being tuned up to help the Swindon Cancer Appeal.
The instruments, synonymous with the Victorian period, were lining Marlborough High Street on Saturday along with collection buckets.
Phil Webb, who has organised barrel organ street collections for the past 11 years, said: "People always seem happy to see us. Macmillan is a very popular charity."
The barrel organs were to entertain shoppers from 10am to 4pm. And the Jubilee Centre, in High Street, was the venue for a raffle.
The target of the appeal is to raise £600,000 in three years.
That will fund two cancer nurses and one specialist at the Great Western Hospital and Prospect Hospice for three years.
So far more than £311,000 has been raised for the appeal. For information about how you can help call appeal manager Graziella Campisano on 01793 601636.
