MARCH 26, SALISBURY: Dr. Pamela Tudor-Craig, remembered for her TV series 'The Secret life of Paintings' and more recently for her contribution to 'Richard lll: Fact or Fiction' will be one of the speakers at a forth coming weekend in Salisbury.
Entitled 'Renaissance Spirituality', the course, to be run at Sarum College in Salisbury's Cathedral Close, promises to be a treat for art and history lovers. Beginning on the evening of Friday, March 26 with dinner followed by a lecture on the Italian Renaissance by Br Patrick Moore, Saturday continues the theme with morning talks on the Renaissance in England and Spain, by speakers Peter Tyler and Julienne McLean. The lecture on Spain will include the work of El Greco, currently being displayed at the hugely popular exhibition at the National Gallery. After lunch, Br. Patrick will lead a special tour of Wilton House by kind permission of Lord Pembroke.
On Saturday night Dr.Tudor-Craig will present 'Botticelli's Primavera and Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream'. The weekend will conclude on Sunday, with a final plenary, drinks and lunch.
