Ref. 29585-36THE Evening Advertiser's parent company, Newsquest, has given more than £1,000 to Swindon Business Cares For Children.
A cheque for £1,045 was presented to the organisation outside the Evening Advertiser offices in Old Town.
The money came from the proceeds of a raffle held at the Wiltshire Business awards on February 27.
Alan Fletcher, the group's treasurer, said: "This once again shows the generosity of local businesses.
"The money will go directly towards the running costs of the NSPCC's child protection centre in Swindon."
Swindon Business Cares For Children was formed in 1992 when NSPCC had no centre in Swindon, even though there had been an inspector based here for nearly 100 years.
The charity raised funds to set up a centre and continues to raise money to run the services it offers.
Anyone interested in joining the group should call Alan on 01793 762914.
