SWINDON-born adventurer David Hempleman-Adams shortly before his successful attempt on a new world altitude record for a hot air balloon.
The 47-year-old balloonist, mountaineer and polar explorer landed safely after reaching 37,000ft in his open wicker basket. The record-breaking flight was launched from Greeley, Colorado.
