A man has been charged in connection with a fatal stabbing in Swindon at the weekend.
Thirty-two-year-old Daryl Robert Kluk, of Bath Road, Swindon, was due to appear before town magistrates this morning charged with murder.
Earlier, police identified the victim as John Lindsay Goldman.
Police at Westlea had until 9.50pm last night to either charge or release Kluk. He was charged at 6.50pm.
A 45-year-old man also arrested has been released without charge.
Mr Goldman, 34, died following an attack in broad daylight.
Relatives who had just returned from holiday and are said to be devastated conducted a formal identification yesterday.
He was attacked somewhere in the Manchester Road area at around 3.30pm on Saturday.
A trail of blood was left along an alleyway as he staggered to the back of his home in County Road.
He collapsed and died later in the Great Western Hospital. Mr Goldman was 6ft 2in tall, with short, dark hair and wore blue jeans and trainers.
Detective Chief Inspector Kevin Capstick, who is heading the investigation, believes someone must have seen Mr Goldman trying to get home.
He said: "I would urge witnesses or anyone with information to please make contact.
"All information received will be held in the strictest confidence."
