BANDS are playing at a special dance to help the Prospect Hospice.
Dave Kingsbury, 57, of Birch Street, has organised the Dance For Prospect on Wednesday March 31 and hopes it will raise more than £2,000.
He said: "The stage is set for a fantastic night. Now all we need is a brilliant audience to make it all worthwhile."
Rock band Penfold, popsters Locomotion, rock and roller JD and skiffle band Ode And The BeBops have offered to make music free of charge at the charity concert, at The Winner's Lounge at Swindon Town Football Club, in County Road.
Local businesses have also rallied to the cause, donating anything from refreshments to printing services.
Now Mr Kingsbury is appealing for one of Swindon's larger companies to match, pound for pound, proceeds raised by the event.
He said: "The response has been great so far. Swindon people are very generous and it would be perfect if big business could back the event."
Hospice spokeswoman Wendy Harman said: "We are thrilled so many people can be so kind."
Tickets cost £6 and can be bought at Prospect charity shops, the Tourist Information Centre, in Regent Circus, and the County Ground. Or call 01793 466454 or 01793 815142.
