ADULTS who perhaps played in school string bands but didn't keep up their practice into adulthood are being given a second chance.
The Second Hand String Band is aimed at people in the Swindon and Cirencester areas.
It meets on Wednesdays at North Cerney Village Hall.
Violin, viola, cello and double bass are played, and the group welcomes new members who can either play, would like to revisit their old skills or who would now like to start from scratch.
Most members play their own instruments, although some are available for hire.
There are currently 16 members, aged from 19 to 75.
Informal concerts are held two or three times a year.
The conductor is violin teacher Ann Pullin, who is assisted by Marni Bingle.
