GAZETTE & HERALD: A music teacher has set up a petition in Chippenham to gain support for a new music and arts centre in the town.
Joe de Berker, who teaches drums and percussion, thinks the town needs a dedicated public arts centre where people can learn and practise music, as well as drama and theatre.
He is hoping to rally support for the idea and has put notices in local music shops, as well as a petition in Noteworthy Music.
"The Bridge Centre would be an ideal spot, but it is in a poor state of repair," he said.
"It needs to be community based."
Chippenham already has a music and arts centre at the Cause, in the Causeway, but Mr de Berker said it was privately owned and in a residential area, which restricted the times and types of use.
Mr de Berker will be applying to North Wiltshire District Council for funding in the new financial year.
He is keen to hear from supporters of his plan, who can contact him on 07957 714645.
