Ref. 12535/1GAZETTE & HERALD: ENTHUSIASTIC bookworms at Charter School, Chippenham, dressed as their favourite literary characters to celebrate their book week.
Headteacher Stella Pall said: "There was lots going on and it was all about encouraging children to enjoy reading."
Author and illustrator Rob Lewis worked with all the pupils for two days. He also read bedtime stories to the children dressed in pyjamas.
The children also visited the library and gave assemblies with songs and talks about reading.
The highlight was the dressing up day and even staff joined in. Mrs Pall was Postman Pat for the day.
She said: "One child came in a dinosaur costume, and a teacher came as the spider from James and the Giant Peach."
The Story Box Theatre Company also performed Snow Queen.
