CHIPPENHAM striker Martin Paul has called on his team-mates to show no fear when they take on Steve Claridge's championship chasers Weymouth on Saturday.
The Bluebirds picked up a draw at home to Dover last weekend and are in need of points to help their promotion push.
Taking something away from the trip to big-spending Weymouth is not going to be easy but Paul is confident the Bluebirds can do well.
"When we played Weymouth at home Steve Claridge was the difference. That night he scored two goals that no-one else in this league could score," said Paul.
"But they are on a terrible run at the moment to be perfectly honest and we have got nothing to fear going down there.
"It is a big pitch and he will have the surface looked after well because they like to play football.
"They are not mathematically out of the championship race, but Crawley seem to be picking up the important points."
Paul said wins are a must for Chippenham at this stage of the season adding that Weymouth would be a perfect place to get back on the winning trail.
"With the situation we are in we have got to go for wins," he continued. "We won't know until training what formation we are going to play but we will go there and try and beat them.
"In the recent form guide they are probably as good as we are so there is no reason why we can't go there and get a positive result off them."
Paul said he felt Chippenham had done enough to beat Dover last weekend despite the windy conditions being a leveller.
"Obviously it was difficult conditions and we changed our formation," he said. "Chalky was probably trying to get more individuals on the pitch who he felt could perhaps get a goal. But obviously we ended up with the worst possible conditions you could have to play football in.
"I don't really think it was any surprise it ended goal-less to be honest."
The Dover game was Paul's first start in five matches and he hopes it will not prove to be a one-off.
"I have no idea if I'll start the Weymouth game or not," he continued.
"Because of the conditions on Saturday no-one could do enough to cement their place but equally so it was that bad that no-one could perform that badly."
