TEENAGE hot-shot James Constable has insisted the only thing on his mind is firing Chippenham into the Conference Two.
The 19-year-old was the centre of transfer speculation last week as Forest Green Rovers made a verbal offer of around £2,000 for his services.
Constable has done superbly since moving to Hardenhuish from Cirencester at the end of last year, scoring ten times in 15 appearances.
But while he admits the attention is flattering he said he wants to continue to fight the Chippenham cause.
"I just want to play here really and I'm not interested in moving on," said the striker.
"It is flattering to hear that teams are interested in me but I just try to put it behind me and forget about it and concentrate on playing for Chippenham.
"The manager hasn't talked to me about it. We've just left it because there's nothing to talk about really and I'm just trying to get on with my football. It's a nice feeling knowing a Conference team are interested in you but I don't want to let it get to me really."
Constable played in a more withdrawn role against Dover on Saturday but said the windy conditions had made it hard to play any effective football.
"It wasn't the best conditions out there but I just tried to knuckle down and get on with it really," he continued.
"I was playing in a new role which was slightly deeper and was new to me.
"I had a chance at the back-stick but couldn't quite reach. I just think it didn't really fall for us in the end.
"I've not really played in conditions as bad as there although Newport at home was almost as bad. We've got a Saturday weather curse here I think."
Constable is now relishing the chance to play on the same pitch as journeyman striker Steve Claridge when the Bluebirds travel to Weymouth this weekend.
"Saturday at Weymouth will be a big game again," he added. "We need points at the moment but we would probably be happy with a draw.
"It's about whatever we can take from the game really but we would love a win down there.
"It will be nice to play against someone like Steve Claridge and would be brilliant if I could outscore him on the day.
"Playing on the same pitch as him will be great and I might try and swap shirts afterwards."
