Ref. 12540/1A CONVOY of bikers braved the bad weather last Saturday to give children at Burton Hill House School, Malmesbury, an early Easter treat.
Bikers from the British Motorcycle Federation made the journey from the Bruce's Arms, Pewsey, to hand out Easter eggs to youngsters at the school.
High winds and torrential rain made conditions difficult but seven bikers and a trike took part in what has become an annual event.
The Federation's southwest chairman Jim Peel-Cross said: "It was a bit windy in places but we just about managed to keep the bikes on the road.
"We got a fair amount for the kids including a box of mini eggs. We got a good response and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves."
The school cares for 37 young people between the ages of eight and 19-years-old. All have severe physical and associated learning difficulties.
The bikers drove through Marlborough, along the A4 to Calne, up through Chippenham and then on the A429 to Malmesbury.
Care worker Karen Kennedy said the children were glad the bikers made the effort.
She said: "They had a lovely time. They loved going out to look at the bikes. The weather was slightly against us but the chaps on the bikes came in to talk to the children and give out the Easter eggs which went down well."
