ON another very windy day at Picket Post, Ellingham and Ringwood fielded a mixture of first and second team players for the friendly with Andover 4th XV.
Playing with the wind at their backs, Ellingham started well with Chris Roberts going over for an early try.
Andy Weeks converted to give the E's a 7-0 lead.
Scrum half Dawfyd Williams added seven more points by converting his own well-taken try midway through the first period.
Just before half time Alan Bingham grubber kicked through for his brother Mark to chase and touch down a fine try.
Starting the second half, Ellingham had a 19-0 lead but turned into an extremely strong head wind.
Straight away Andover used this advantage and pulled five points back as their winger scored.
Ellingham held strong with their forwards having a great game.
Replacement centre, Mike Fisher, scored two individual tries after fine clean ball possession by the pack. With a very late consolation try for Andover, the game ended 29-10 to the E's.
Team manager Steve Anderson gave Man of the Match to Paul Arnold adding: "In very difficult conditions, the lads held steady and played some good rugby at times.
"Paul stood out with another excellent game in his new position."
