PEWSEY picked up a very creditable draw against high-flying Hungerford last Wednesday and were unlucky not to do even better.
Vale continued their unbeaten run with a good team performance and took a first half lead though Craig Wall.
They had further chances to stretch their lead but failed to do so and were punished when Hungerford equalised with five minutes to go.
Manager Steve Wootton said: "We played well again and we could have got more out of the game.
"Craig scored a well taken goal with a header and from a similar move put another chance wide from inside the six-yard box.
"Hungerford changed it in the second half and went with three up. We weathered the storm and had a couple of chances but they scored five minutes from the end.
"We've been doing quite well now we've got everyone fit. Hungerford are right up there at the top but we should have beaten them."
Hungerford had a good chance to open the scoring as early as the fourth minute but Jason Brizell shot wide.
The opening goal arrived on 27 minutes when Wall broke the deadlock from a free-kick.
Just before the break a great pass from Matty Messenger found Wall but he was unable to apply the finishing touch.
Hungerford played with three up front after the restart and finally cracked the Pewsey defence.
Pewsey were due to play their Wiltshire Senior Cup semi-final against Trowbridge last night.
