GAZETTE & HERALD: THE case against a Calne man who stole a bible, has been adjourned so psychiatric reports can be prepared.
Swindon Crown Court heard Malcolm Keates took the book and some papers from a laptop belonging to Michael Greenslade on January 11.
James Wilson-Smith, defending, said: "He doesn't have a recollection of this offence but he accepts he must have committed it. It is not a usual case for him and he is deeply shameful about it."
He said Keates has a history of mental health problems and is currently under the care of a psychiatric team.
He was bailed on condition he lives at Coulter House, Calne, observes a 7pm to 7am curfew, and does not contact witnesses or go to The Green.
Adjourning the case Judge Charles Wade said "In view of the pleas today this case is going to be adjourned for eight weeks to enable a number of reports to be completed."
