BANKER Debbie Neale is the new manager at HSBC Bank in Devizes. Mrs Neale has taken over from Nigel Holman, who retired after being manager at the branch for ten years and with the HSBC for 37 years.
She admits that Mr Holman, who was a stalwart of Devizes Chamber of Commerce, will be a hard act to follow.
She said: "I am determined to follow in his footsteps to make this branch as customer friendly as it has always been."
Mrs Neale has been with HSBC for 20 years.
She started work at the Chesterfield branch in her native Derbyshire before coming to Wiltshire to work at the branch in Malmesbury in 1991.
She had a brief stay at Marlborough before she went to Cirencester where she stayed until the vacancy for branch manager came up at Devizes.
Although she has only been in the town for a couple of weeks, Mrs Neale is bowled over by her reception.
She said: "I can't believe how friendly and welcoming everyone has been. I am sure I am going to enjoy my stay in Devizes."
