GRIEVING father Michael Lynch is backing villagers in Market Lavington who want the 60mph speed limit at Spin Hill reduced to 30mph.
Mr Lynch's daughter, Sharon Oliver, was killed when her husband's car was in collision with a car travelling in the opposite direction at Spin Hill on April 26 last year.
Peter Huntley, 19, of Blackberry Lane, Potterne, the driver of the other car, pleaded guilty to careless driving and was fined £1,750 and had nine penalty points put on his driving licence.
Salisbury Crown Court heard he had been travelling at about 33mph when he lost control of his car and collided with Mr Oliver's car.
Mrs Oliver was a passenger in the car. She and her husband, Steve, had moved to Stirling Road, Market Lavington, shortly after marrying in London in July 2002.
Mr Lynch, a 60-year-old London taxi driver, said: "The county council should have no hesitation in reducing the speed limit at Spin Hill. If the council doesn't reduce the speed limit then my daughter's death will have been in vain."
Mr Lynch said Mrs Oliver, 34, had battled against adversity much of her life.
She contracted Crohns Disease, a bowel disorder, at the age of 18 and had undergone four major operations, but she went out of her way to help others with Crohns.
More than 600 attended her funeral in London.
The county council is due to decide on Wednesday whether or not to reduce the speed limit and introduce traffic calming measures at Spin Hill following the presentation of a petition signed by 220 people.
