ROCK music filled a Melksham school on Friday as budding stars took to the stage to entertain fellow pupils.
It was the ninth annual concert at The George Ward School and those taking part were determined to make it even better than previous years.
Organiser Mel Austin said: "By any standards this was a spectacular evening with a backdrop of high quality sound and breathtaking lighting effects, against which the young stars could show off their talent."
The first three acts on the stage were all under 14, with 12-year-old Laura Lewis
performing Good Charlotte cover Say Anything, followed by fellow year seven pupil Natasha Harris with LeAnn Rimes' How Do I Live and 13-year-old rapper Simon Partington.
They were followed by acts ranging from newcomers to established groups such as local band Desid.
A fundraising auction was held during the interval with items donated by Peter Gabriel, Pink Floyd and The Cooper Temple Clause.
Youngsters taking part have recorded a 14-track CD, available from the school on (01225) 705866.
All profits go to the school's Morocco expedition, the Jonah Wright Appeal and the Rotary Club's Hope and Homes Appeal.
