SPEEDING motorist Claire Warner has escaped a driving ban after being clocked at 88mph on the A36 between Crockerton and Heytesbury.
Appearing before Salisbury magistrates last Tuesday, Warner, of The Folly, Bristol, claimed the detection equipment used to check her on the 60mph stretch was inaccurate. But ruling against this, magistrates fined her £375 and ordered her to pay £300 costs.
Safety camera unit manager David Frampton said: "All enforcement equipment is checked, calibrated and operated by highly trained personnel.
"All our equipment is Home Office approved and we have strict internal procedures to ensure adherence with the Association of Chief Police Officers' (ACPO) guidelines for speed enforcement."
