Ref. 29697-13The Evening Advertiser can reveal the identity of Swindon's mysterious Roundabout Elvis.
The jumpsuit-clad rocker is none other than GWR DJ Howard Taylor.
For the past week suspicious minds have been working overtime trying to identify the face behind the quiff after several sightings at the town's roundabouts.
But no amount of sniffing around revealed this old hound dog until now.
The cheeky chappy, who is used to tricking people in his morning wind-up show, said he enjoyed every second of it even though he's not an Elvis fan.
He said: "It was just a bit of fun but I got an amazing response from motorists out and about. Let's face it, it makes Monday mornings more fun than the usual dreary drive to work."
Rush-hour motorists were left all shook up after the pseudo-Presley popped up at various locations, including Bruce Street Bridges, Asda Wal-Mart and the Magic Roundabout.
Howard, who is in his 30s, said: "Any comedian on stage would have been delighted if they had received the response I got from people."
Howard hired the outfit for a charity function on Saturday night but wanted to have one final hip-swivel before returning it to Old Town's Giant Party Shop.
He added: "People seemed so eager to unveil me I almost got bundled into a car outside Drove Road Vets.
"None of my colleagues know about it. I think they'll see the funny side when they read the Adver, though."
