Musicians at a Trowbridge secondary school battled it out for a coveted title at the 13th Young Musician of the Year event.
Ten finalists from St Augustine's Catholic College played and sang for the school's title at the Wiltshire Music Centre in Bradford on Avon, on St Patrick's Day.
Year 12 pianist Dominic Irving took the overall award for his performance of Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody No 2.
Dominic, who won the most promising performance cup in 1999, reached the second round of last year's BBC Young Musician of the Year contest.
Oboe player Victoria Gumbley took the runner-up title while cellist Cameron Lange won most promising musician.
Richard O'Mahony, head of music at St Augustine's Catholic College, said he was proud of his talented students.
"The students performed in a different league than they did in the rehearsals. By the time we got to the grand final it was just stupendous.
"Each year the students know what standard is required in order to get to this level."
