Ref. 28026/1A HOST of sporting and leisure activities were laid on for students at a Trowbridge secondary school to raise money for charity on Friday.
Clarendon School pupils threw themselves into a wealth of events, including a fun run, aerobics sessions, swimathon, readathon and a five-a-side football tournament, as part of the school's charity challenge event.
Sixth formers also got in on the act through a sponsored stay-awake on Thursday night.
Each year group was asked to pick a charity to receive a slice of cash raised, with Greenpeace, Amnesty International, and Shaw Trust among the groups to benefit.
Teacher David Bullock said: "Each year group was fundraising for a different charity and the money is still coming in. We are hoping to raise a few thousand pounds.
"We had all sorts of events so a large number of students could take part."
Students who took part in the fun run followed a circular route along Frome Road, Silver Street Lane and Bradley Road. Year 10 pupil Alex Breach was the overall race winner.
