Ref. 28000MONEY is starting to roll in for the Wiltshire Times 150 Fund raising money to donate to west Wiltshire groups and organisations in need of support.
Wiltshire Times staff have started running a monthly Big Breakfast and their first event this week raised £75 for the Fund.
Staff at the office in Duke Street placed their breakfast orders on Thursday and on their arrival at work were greeted with a full breakfast to get their day off to a flying start.
Reporter Ed Mezzetti said: "For £2 it was a real bargain and it kept me going until lunchtime.
"It was nice to feel that while we were at work we were still making a difference to the Fund.
"It feels like the fundraising is gaining momentum here now and I think we'll all enjoy being a part of that especially if we get a full breakfast."
The 150 Fund has also been a benefactor of a ladies' indulgence evening held at Fieldways Hotel, Trowbridge, on Tuesday.
Consultants from cosmetic company Virgin Vie treated guests to a free glass of wine and goodie bag and several new clients placed orders for make-up and beauty products.
Proceeds from ticket sales and donations at the event will be split between the 150 Fund and children's charity CLIC.
Virgin Vie consultant Annemarie McConaghy, from Trowbridge, organised the event.
She said: "It was really busy and I don't think we could have fitted in that many more people.
"We also gave 10 per cent of all the orders we took on the night to charity which helped the fundraising."
She is planning to hold more fundraisers to bring in new clients from west Wiltshire in the future.
