Ref. 29686-26IT may only be the start of spring but children at a Blunsdon school are getting into panto mood.
Around 60 pupils at St Andrew's Primary are busy putting the final touches to the classic tale of Jack And The Beanstalk, which they will perform in front of parents next week.
Nicky Mills, deputy headteacher, says the children have been practising for weeks to ensure the two performances go with a bang.
Miss Mills revealed that parents might be surprised by the plot, which has been given a bit of a twist.
"We've made a few changes to the original plot," she said.
"We have put a lot of musical rhyme into it and Jack aims to clean himself before he climbs the beanstalk because the giant can smell him.
"All the children have really enjoyed themselves and have worked really hard along with the staff."
Nathan Spurrett, eight, has the lead role.
He said: "It's going to be good with loads of singing and dancing in it.
"I've read the fairy tale and I hope the play will be just as good."
