Ref. 29679-23TALENTED youngsters from Grange Junior School held an art exhibition this week.
More than 430 different pieces were shown including paintings, weavings, collages and puppets. Every pupil in the school had produced a piece for display with themes ranging from sports and water scenes to the Tudors, inspired by a recent history project.
Pupils and staff had been looking forward to the event and had designed invitations to parents and local VIPs including Swindon Mayor Derek Benfield. The Mayor spoke to some of the young artists and sent a thank you letter saying he had been impressed with the "wonderful exhibition" and that the high standards and wide range of pieces were a credit to the school.
Organiser Rachel Strawson, the school's arts co-ordinator, said: "There was a lot of hard work from everyone involved. It was extremely successful and we're all pleased with how it went."
The school in Stratton holds the display every two years.
