SWINDON Parent Partnership is seeking volunteers to help parents with children who have special educational needs.
The organisation is keen to hear from anybody who can spare the time to become an Independent Parent Supporter (IPS).
An IPS needs to be interested in education and special educational needs or willing to find out, a good listener, able to give clear explanations, trustworthy, available to support parents at meetings during the day and willing to complete the training.
Jill Wells, the partnership co-ordinator, said: "If you have the time and interest we need you. Parents have said how much they value and welcome support from Swindon Parent Partnership service.
"Now we want more parents to have that same benefit."
To find out more, a recruitment show is being held tomorrow at the Drove Centre on Drove Road between 9.30am and 2.30pm. The show will feature hourly talks about the role of an IPS.
There will also be displays and lots of useful information about Special Education Needs. The training starts in April.
For more information, call Jill Wells on 01793 466515.
