The recent letters from Topping and Smith seem to have drifted from the main subject which was the comparison of our troops to suicide bombers.

In all of my letters I have emphasised this.

Our troops are not suicide bombers, they are acting on orders from our government, not from a terrorist group. They do not blow up themselves to inflict indiscriminate murder as a political gesture.

Surely the recent incident in Madrid must show even to Topping and Smith that there is a difference between our troops and terrorists.

If they cannot see this, then it can only be that they do not want to see it.

Topping and Smith should do like the majority of people do in this country, condemn the use of terrorism and suicide bombings as a means to a political end and stop making excuses for terrorism.
