March 18 2004: A Rover crashed into the back of a Peugeot van on the bend before the Saab garage, travelling towards Calne. Two people received minor injuries and were taken to Chippenham Hospital.
January 2 2004: A Seat skidded on black ice as it descended New Derry Hill and spun across the road several times, before ploughing into the car park of the Lysley Arms, smashing into a Citroen Picasso. The impact sent the Seat and its five occupants hurtling into the air, smashing into a Citroen C2 and rolling across three more parked cars, before coming to rest upside down on the roof of a parked Mercedes.
October 28 2003: A woman turning into her drive on the A4 near the Murco garage was struck by another car from behind. A second accident then happened when three cars on the opposite side bumped into each other as they looked at the first accident.
October 6 2003: Two cars were involved in a collision at the bottom of Old Derry Hill. No one was injured.
September 30 2003: A three car collision occurred outside the Lysley Arms as one driver tried to turn right into the pub car park. One man was taken to hospital with whiplash.
September 25 2003: Geoffrey Smith, 60, was killed in a crash involving three cars and a lorry between the Saab garage and Murco garage.
September 19 2003: Two cars were involved in a collision by the Saab garage on London Road. There was one injury.
September 1 2003: A car and van collided on the A4 to the west of Calne. One woman suffered whiplash.
April 25 2003: A tanker carrying 900 litres of milk collided head-on with an Astra car on Black Dog Hill. It took 40- minutes to cut the 38-year-old Calne man from the car.
February 13 2003: Citroen Xantia and Rover 216 collided at Derry Hill junction. Nine-year-old Mark Petherick had to be cut from the Rover after his legs were trapped.
November 21 2002: 40 sheep died when a 41-tonne truck transporting animals to an abattoir was involved in a three-vehicle crash.
November 15 2002: 19-year-old Michael Hayward, from Calne, was killed when the car he was driving was involved in a crash with a truck at the Derry Hill junction.
November 5 2002: A seven-an-a-half tonne lorry travelling to Chippenham jacknifed at the top of Derry Hill partially blocking the road. On the same day there was a three-car collision at the junction, but it was not deemed serious enough to contact the police.
July 3 2002: A Peugeot 306 travelling from Calne was in collision with a single decker coach as it turned into the junction.
