RECENTLY formed businesses in Malmesbury are being asked to compete for £2,000.
The competition run in with conjunction with Malmesbury Chamber of Commerce, Wessex Chamber of Commerce, North Wiltshire Festival and Business Link is to promote the entrepreneurial spirit in the town.
Alan Woodward, chairman of the Malmesbury chamber, said: "£2,000 is a fair bit of money and it would be good to see a local business benefit from it. They will also get some free publicity as well."
Companies will have explain their pricing structures, skills and experience, if they have done a market analysis and how they would invest the £2,000.
The winner of the Malmesbury competition will then be entered with other towns in North Wiltshire to compete for a further £2,000 as part of the North Wiltshire Festival this summer.
Entry forms are available from the Tourist Information Office. Deadline for applications is May 7. For information call (01666) 824249.
