IT was a great day for Callum Russell who scored five goals for home side Westbury in their 9-1 win over Melksham Park in the under 12s Red Division.

The first ten minutes gave no indication of the final result as Melksham started really well and pressed the Westbury goal from the kick-off.

This pressure did not take long to bring success when Westbury made a hash of clearing from their own area for a Melksham player to shoot home for a fine goal.

Even this setback did not seem to wake up the Westbury players who must have been suffering with the change of in the clocks.

After 15 minutes Westbury came to life bringing the game level when Callum Russell directed the ball into the net from a corner.

Westbury went 2-1 ahead when the ball was deflected in from a corner off a Melksham player.

Four minutes before half-time Charlie Luckham broke down the right wing and as he approached the area, with everyone expecting him to cross, he shot and the ball hit the net for a 3-1 lead.

Melksham defended well after the restart and made some good chances but Westbury were up to the challenge and kept them out.

Daniel Greenslade added to Westbury's tally with a well taken goal turning the game completely in Westbury's favour. The final ten minutes saw them add a further five goals, four of them from Russell, with Greenslade adding the fifth.
