SWINDON Amateur Light Operatic Society this week donated the proceeds of recent concerts to Gorse Hill's Green Hut.
The £2,200 cheque came from two shows SALOS performed at the Upper Room above the Savoy, in Regent Street, on March 19 and 20.
The Green Hut is a drop-in centre which offers practical support for over 16s in need, including people with mental health difficulties, the unemployed and the homeless.
Eric Walker, a volunteer fundraiser for the Green Hut, said: "We are fairly well known in the community as we offer a much needed local service.
"We raise as much money as we can ourselves but always appreciate the help of organisations such as SALOS, who have helped us in the past.
"Their donation was a wonderful boost which will help go towards our running costs."
