NOT quite sure about the point of bus driver Bryn Reed's letter. I am aware the council is placing people in so-called 'affordable housing'. Some of them are subsidised, they pay no rent or council tax, such is the case on the new estate on the New College site. A single female with a child settles in, and then in pops the boyfriend and they live quite comfortably.
It's going on all over. There are plenty of work-shy people about. The situation does not require a social service degree just enforce a decent wage for a day's work. It would appear that, as it is, benefits are way ahead,.
The end project would perhaps see more individuals seeking work. The rent and council tax would perhaps be spread about a bit, and so cut the huge increases we have had over the past two years.
